What donut boxes is, and when it is the right call
Donuts are bought by sight, so a window is not a nice-to-have in this category — a plain box gets opened on the counter, which defeats the point of packing it. The aperture runs most of the lid so the whole dozen is visible without lifting anything.
Depth is the specification that goes wrong. Too shallow and the glaze sticks to the lid; too deep and the donuts slide. Roughly 15 mm of headroom over the tallest item is what works.
18pt grease-resistant board with a PET window. Locking side walls so the box holds square when carried flat. Minimum 250 units. Board weight decides more than the product category does. Most boxes we are asked to quote are specified one step heavier than they need to be, and that shows up on every unit.
Where a product sits near the limit of a construction, ask for both options to be quoted. The difference is usually a cent or two a unit and the decision becomes obvious.
