Custom Gable Boxes
The gable top folds from one blank into a peaked box with a handle cut into the ridge, so the pack carries itself. It is the format for takeaway, party favours, hampers and anything handed straight to a customer.
- MOQ 250
- Food contact approved grades
- Vented and windowed options
Seven gable formats
Same peaked construction throughout. What changes is the board, the liner and whether the customer can see in.
A box that carries itself
A gable box exists to be picked up. The handle is part of the blank, so there is nothing to attach and nothing to come off in a customer's hand, and the peak gives you a tall, clean panel on both faces for print.
Because most gable work is food, the board matters more than the print. Hot or oily contents need a grease-resistant uncoated grade; liquids need a barrier liner. Coated boards look sharper and fail faster against heat.
Grease and heat
Grease-resistant uncoated kraft holds up against hot food where a coated board blisters. We spec by what is going in it.
Handle strength
A handle cut in 16pt board tears at about two pounds. Anything heavier moves to 24pt or gets a reinforced ridge.
Venting
Hot food steams. A vented handle or a perforated panel keeps pastry crisp instead of soft.
