What changes between them is what the sleeve is wrapping and how much of the product you want visible.
When a band beats a box
If you already buy plain trays, plain mailers or plain jars, a sleeve is the lowest-cost way to make them yours. You are printing one flat piece of board instead of a whole carton, and it ships flat with no glue seam to fail.
The trade-off is protection. A sleeve holds a pack together and carries the artwork; it does not take a drop. Pair it with a tray that can, and the two together usually still land under the cost of a printed carton.
Fit is everything
A sleeve that is a millimetre loose slides off in transit and a millimetre tight tears on the corner. Send us the tray or box and we measure it rather than working from your drawing.
Window or no window
A cutout lets the product sell itself and costs almost nothing on a die that is already being made. Film patching is the part that adds cost.
Food contact
For hot or greasy food we run uncoated grease-resistant kraft rather than a coated board, because coating is what fails first against heat.

On grease-resistant uncoated kraft, yes, including direct contact. Tell us whether the food is hot, cold or oily and we will pick the grade.
A plain sleeve usually runs on an existing die. A shaped window needs its own die, charged once and held for reruns.
Snug enough to need a light push, loose enough not to scuff the print. We build in the clearance for you once we have the part.
